Traditional Therapy
Therapy modalities include traditional approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, client-centered, gestalt/existential, interpersonal, and psychodynamic therapies.
Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy was introduced to me in 2011, when I decided I was ready to learn something new, an alternative method of healing. Hypnotherapy is a way of using a deeper, altered state, to induce change. A trance (deeply relaxed, yet focused state) is created with the intention of working with the subconscious, to uncover embedded thoughts and beliefs that no longer serve our higher good. The trance state is used to develop more healthy, positive beliefs and perceptions.
Reiki/Energy Work
Reiki is an alternative form of energy healing that involves working with the ethereal, spiritual, soul/body realm. The energy, or aura that surrounds our physical body contains a layer of ourselves that, when manipulated or worked with, can lead to profound healing and shifts within the other layers of ourselves. Such as the mental, psychological, and physical.
Meditation/Mind~Body Work
Meditation is a way to “quiet” the mind. It is a way to deeply relax our mind and body, release conscious thought, and connect our mind, body, and soul. Meditation is not only healing for the psyche, but it also has numerous physiological benefits as well.
Mind~Body work focuses on developing an understanding of how the body contains and holds psychological, emotional and cognitive information, which may manifest physically in some form, such as illness, pain, or discomfort. As we begin to understand ourselves as “layers,” and the relationships between these various aspects of ourselves, we can more fully achieve a natural state of healing.
